Minimum Requirements for Commercial Rating

  1. 250 hours of flight time
  2. 100 hours in powered aircraft
  3. 50 hours in airplanes
  4. 100 hours of PIC
  5. 50 hours PIC in airplanes
  6. 50 hours PIC cross country
  7. 10 hours PIC cross country in airplanes
  8. 20 hours of flight training
  9. 10 hours of simulated instrument training
  10. 5 hours of simulated instrument training in single engine airplane
  11. 10 hours of training in complex or TAA airplanes
  12. One 2-hour, 100nm day cross country training flight in a single engine airplane
  13. One 2-hour, 100nm night cross country training flight in a single engine airplane
  14. 3 hours of checkride prep training in a single engine airplane within the preceding 2 calendar months
  15. 10 hours of solo in a single engine airplane
  16. One 300nm cross country flight in a single engine airplane, with landings at three points, and one point at least 250nm from the departure point
  17. 5 hours of night in VFR conditions in single engine airplanes
  18. 10 night takeoffs and 10 night landings in single engine airplanes at an airport with an operating control tower
